It is a thick (12 mil) product with a smoother, shiny type finish, that is called a piano finish, due to the resemblance to the finish you see on nice pianos. It has a much more formal look than you normally see on a laminate floor,yet it has a much more durable finish so it can be used in high traffic areas.<br /><br />In the short time this type of laminate has been available from other companies it has been very popular.
